Camile and Alex’s wedding, for me, was the wedding of the year! The one I really anticipated getting my hands dirty on and bringing to colourful life. Their pure happiness and joy made it all the more exciting, as did the challenge of providing an entirely British Grown floral world to their day.
When Camile and Alex first came to me, one thing was absolutely clear—they were fiercely passionate about making their wedding as sustainable and Eco-concious as possible. Every decision was intentional, from the flowers to the food, ensuring their special day had a minimal carbon footprint while bursting with colour, joy, and personality.
Hosted at Alex’s beautiful family home in the Somerset countryside, their wedding was a heartfelt celebration of love, culture, and family. Camile’s Brazilian heritage infused every part of the day, bringing an infectious energy, vibrant hues, and an atmosphere that was as warm and welcoming as the couple themselves. From the moment guests arrived, they were enveloped in a day that felt so uniquely them—a perfect blend of meaningful traditions and joyful spontaneity.
Looking back on the photos, taken by the wildly talented (and The Wedding Industry's Awarded BEST PHOTOGRAPHER of 2025!!) Chelsea Cannar, you can feel the energy in the room as Camile and Alex got ready. Providing the buttonholes as mixed stems gave each Groomsman something unique and personable to themselves and meanwhile, the Bridesmaids donned mismatched dresses that showcased a variety of colours and styles, complimenting beautifully with their unique bouquets. Delivering their bouquets was perhaps one of the most joyous experiences of my career so far, all the squeals of excitement and anticipation & the warmest hug from Camile herself, I'm so lucky to call this my job!
Sustainable, British-Grown Blooms
Honouring their commitment to sustainability, all the wedding flowers were 100% British-grown and sourced as locally as possible. The arrangements embraced a wild - yet still my flower heavy style, natural aesthetic, with seasonal blooms bursting in fiery oranges, deep pinks, and golden yellows—a nod to Brazil’s rich, tropical colours as well as the fun a colourful theme brings to a wedding.

Dahlias, Cosmos, and Zinnias took centre stage, dancing amongst striking Sunflowers and trailing vines, creating an effortlessly beautiful feel.

Asked of me was to create something dramatic and impactful to welcome guests, starting with the most glorious floral meadow crescent to frame Camile and Alex as they said their vows in front of their family and friends. The ceremony, set against the backdrop of the family home’s gardens, was a breathtaking riot of colour and texture. Every flower was carefully chosen to be in season and locally sourced, ensuring minimal impact on the environment while maximising beauty.

Moving through to the next field on Alex’s family home, the marquee housed a full and colourful floral bar display designed to wow guests throughout the night. Bud vases lined every trestle table, whilst milk churns brimming with fresh blooms stood proudly at the marquee entrance.
Getting creative and drafting new ways of keeping things fresh, hydrated and sustainable for the day was a fun challenge, especially on a hot mid September day! Using concrete trough planters for the meadows, a shed load of chicken wire and moss for the bar & milk churns and vintage style glass bud vases for the tables, it takes longer to think about and draft but it's considerably more sustainable and an important practice to uphold.
The Magic of a Wedding That Feels Like You
What made this wedding so incredibly fulfilling to be a part of was how deeply it reflected Camile and Alex’s love story. They weren’t trying to fit into a mould—they designed a day that felt true to them in every way. It was colourful, expressive, heartfelt, and most importantly, fun.
Camile and Alex threw the rule book out the window in the best possible way! Their ceremony was a true celebration, with spontaneous singalongs and joyful dancing before they even said, “I do.” The energy was electric, with guests laughing, clapping, and fully immersed in the experience.
For me, being their florist wasn’t just about creating beautiful arrangements—it was about helping bring their vision to life in the most meaningful, sustainable way possible. Seeing their joy, knowing that every flower choice aligned with their values, and watching them celebrate so freely was an absolute privilege.
Camile and Alex, your wedding was a dream, and I am so grateful to have been a part of it. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and more spontaneous dance parties!

Working with local growers
One thing I loved so much about the challenge of sourcing everything British was getting to meet an array of new growers local to me that I hadn't met before. Sustainability in floristry is becoming ever more important. Oasis foam is toxic to the environment, and the extreme level of greenhouse use to bring Holland’s flowers to life is a lot. Camile and Alex pushed me out of my comfort zone to discover new and creative ways of doing wedding flowers, opening my eyes to a much more forward way of working.
I worked closely with the wonderful women at Wild Zinnia& Haze Wholesale Flowers, and I cannot thank both of these teams enough for their guidance, site visits, amazing selection of flowers & the high quality of flowers I was provided with. \
